social media platforms

We live in a world that is dominated by social media. 4.62 billion people now have access to social media and spend an average of 2h 27m on it each day. (Source: Smart Insights) So it's no surprise that social media marketing is at the forefront of what we do at Anonymous.

How can you make the best use of this incredible tool to grow your project?

overview of social media use

With so many social media platforms to choose from, which one is right for your brand? Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit etc...

Here is our list of the most effective platforms for growing your web3 community.

1. Twitter

Twitter seems the obvious choice here. Twitter is full of up and coming projects, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and established brands in the space. It is very mainstream, and it's more challenging to stand out from the crowd, but it is often most investors' first point of contact with many projects. Some of our favourite KOLs to follow are Vitalik Buterin, Changpeng Zhao and "Pomp".

2. Reddit

Reddit is nowhere near as popular as Twitter, but it has its place as the 9th most popular social media in the US and has over 52 million daily users. (Source) Strict rules and the subreddit features make seeing relevant information a breeze. There are many different related subreddits, but your favourite token will likely have one. Reddit is quite popular with big names; Vitalik Buterin often hangs out to discuss Ethereum in the r/ethtrader subreddit.

3. Discord

Initially designed for gamers, Discord is a great communication platform for community building. It offers a place where community members can chat about everything and provides an excellent platform for devs to make announcements to the community with the @everyone feature. Whether you're an investor, a newbie, a developer or an artist, you can find a discord with like-minded individuals.

4. Telegram

Heralded as the more secure and private WhatsApp, Telegram is an excellent platform for projects to interact with their community in real-time. Projects often have an announcement channel and a community chat channel. Beware of scammers, spam, bots and fake followers, however.

5. Medium

Are you looking to educate your followers or stay updated with the newest info? Look no further than Medium. As a blog site, long-form articles are a great educational resource for everything web3. From marketing updates to deep dives on popular projects to investing journeys, Medium has it all.

These are our favourite social media platforms for web3. While there is plenty of room for other platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram etc., we believe these five platforms are worth their weight in Bitcoin.
